On March 27, 2024, the Hersenstichting (Dutch Brain Foundation) and Omroep MAX organized a live TV program called “Geef om je hersenen” (Care for Your Brain) to raise awareness about the impact of brain disorders. The program featured personal stories from individuals affected by brain conditions and their caregivers, as well as updates on promising research.

One of the researchers featured was Eric Reits , main applicant from the CureQ project. Reits expressed hope for individuals carrying the Huntington gene, stating that there is finally progress in research towards potential treatments or cures for this devastating neurodegenerative disorder.

The program aimed to highlight the significant burden of brain disorders, which affect over 4 million people in the Netherlands, and the urgent need for more research

to develop better treatments and ultimately find cures. It brought together patients, caregivers, researchers, and public figures to raise awareness and support for brain research initiatives like CureQ.
